Everything you need to know — try it for yourself
No wall of text. The three things that come up most often you can click through right here — everything else is question and answer below.
Claim daily quest
Two quests a day. Completed doesn't mean credited automatically — you claim the reward yourself.
Duel stakes
Both sides put in the same amount, the winner takes the whole pot. Pick a stake and see what happens at the end.
Photo reveal
Your picture stays hidden until you've matched and answered ten questions — then it reveals for both of you at once.
What even is socializeME?
An app that brings people together through game rounds instead of profiles to swipe through. You start a round, play with a few strangers or friends, and a chat grows out of it.
The app deliberately shows games near you, never people. Nobody sees where you currently are.
How do I start my first round?
Two ways, both on the home screen:
- Find opponent — pick a game up top, tap the big button, and the app looks for an open round. Nearby first, then your city, then your country.
- Start your own round — the golden plus at the bottom center. Then you wait until someone joins.
For duels, the app asks beforehand whether it should be one on one or several players.
I keep searching and never find anyone
That's almost always because not much is going on right now. Two things help:
- Take the game of the day from your daily quests. It's the same for everyone — most people search there at the same time.
- Open your own round and leave it open instead of searching further.
There are never bots in duels. If nobody's around, the room just stays open — you never get slipped a computer opponent.
What games are there?
Rounds with several players: Get to Know, Who Am I?, Draw & Guess — plus Hot Takes, Caption Battle and Story Builder.
Duels: Chess, Connect 4, Battleship and FindIT. Chess is always one on one, the others go up to four players. Connect 4 becomes "Ultimate" from three players on and plays on a bigger board.
When does someone see my profile photo?
Only after a match and ten questions — and then for both sides at the same time. Nobody sees your picture while you're playing.
For Get to Know you need a photo at all, so the other person knows who they're meeting. In every other mode it's optional.
Can I quit a round?
Yes — but a round you quit counts for nothing: not for your record, not for points, not for daily quests.
That's on purpose. Otherwise "bail as soon as it's going badly" would be the best strategy.
How do I challenge someone to a duel?
In a chat with a friend or in a group: the crossed-swords icon next to the input field. Then pick a game, done.
The proposal stays open for two minutes; whoever accepts first gets the spot. You can withdraw it at any time.
How do stakes work?
When you propose a duel, you pick a stake at the top: none, 10, 25, 50 or 100 Lightning. Both sides put in the same amount, the winner takes the whole pot.
Only someone who can afford the stake can join. On a draw or an aborted round, everyone gets their stake back — even a dropped connection costs you nothing.
Stakes are always Lightning, never Somis. Here's why.
How does my record against someone work?
Every finished duel goes into your shared record with that person, split by game. You'll find it at the top of their profile.
Draws are counted separately. Aborted matches don't count at all.
What is a rematch?
After the match, the result screen offers "Rematch". Same pairing, same game — colors get swapped so the first-move advantage changes sides.
If there was a stake, you can raise it, keep it, or play without one right there.
What are Somis?
The main currency. You get it from playing, through group levels, the weekly chest, the season and referral rewards — or you buy it.
You spend it in the store: frames, backgrounds, titles, name effects and chat bubbles.
How do I earn Lightning?
Four ways — all through playing:
- Daily quests: two per day. Plus a bonus when you claim both seven days in a row.
- Group duels: every one you finish gives a few, with a daily cap.
- Your group's weekly chest.
- Season tiers, when Lightning is attached to one.
If your group is currently supercharged, you get 30% more.
Why can't I buy Lightning?
Because it's what people play against each other with. Somis can be bought with real money — staking a purchasable currency and handing the pot to the winner would legally be gambling, with everything that comes with it.
Lightning is therefore only earnable. And there's no exchange in either direction: you can't turn Somis into Lightning, or the other way around. That separation is exactly what makes stakes possible in the first place.
How do daily quests work?
Two quests a day, reachable via the lightning bolt at the top of the home screen:
- Game of the day — the same for everyone. Chess today, FindIT tomorrow, and so on. That's on purpose: it makes everyone meet in the same mode instead of spreading out.
- Finish one group duel.
Completed doesn't mean credited automatically — you have to claim the reward. A new set arrives daily at midnight UTC (1 or 2 a.m. our time); the exact countdown is at the top of the page.
My quest isn't counting — why?
The match has to be played to the end. Giving up, a dropped connection or getting kicked don't count — not even if you were ahead.
And a quest points to a specific game: a round in a different mode won't fill it.
How do I found a group?
Under Connects → Groups. You can also start one alone and add people later.
Inviting works through a link with a QR code (Group info → "Link"). Whoever opens it joins directly — even without being friends with anyone. The code is valid for seven days and can be revoked.
A group holds up to 8 people.
What is the weekly chest?
A contest inside your group: from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 18:00 UTC you collect wins in group games. Whoever has the most at the end gets the pot.
The pot grows with the whole group's activity, not just yours — the more you play together, the fuller it gets. Plus a fixed Lightning share.
After claiming it, you have a week's time. Use /rank in the group chat to see the current standing.
What does /supercharge do?
Type /supercharge in the group chat. If enough members agree, the group gets supercharged for 30 minutes: +30% group XP, season XP and Lightning from duels.
Once per day and group. Each person only benefits in one group per day — the weekly chest is exempt from this.
What do group levels do?
Your group collects XP through finished group games. On every level-up, every member who has set this group as their main group gets Somis — depending on the tier, also Lightning or a group cosmetic.
Who's allowed to do what in a group?
The admin can do everything. They can make members moderators (shield icon in group info): those can invite, remove members, change the name and picture, and pin messages.
Moderators can't remove the admin or other moderators. If the admin leaves the group, a moderator inherits it first.
How do I send a voice message?
Hold the microphone to record, release to send. Swipe left to cancel — the trash can gets more visible the further you swipe, so you can see what's about to happen.
30 seconds max; the recording stops by itself after that.
Why do voice messages disappear?
They expire after a day — unlike WhatsApp. Every message shows how much longer it's around.
After that, a note stays behind so the history doesn't have gaps. Save it if it matters to you.
Can I delete or edit messages?
Long-press your own message. You'll find "Edit" and "Delete for everyone" there.
After deleting, "Message deleted" stays in the chat — the line stays because replies hang off it. For a voice message, the recording is deleted immediately too.
What else can I do in chat?
- Reply: swipe the message to the right.
- React: long-press, pick an emoji.
- GIFs: icon on the left of the input field.
- Pin (groups, admin and moderators): long-press → "Pin".
How do I clean up my chats?
Under Connects, chat rows swipe both ways: swipe right to pin, swipe left to archive, or open the menu.
Archived chats live in their own tab — nothing gets deleted, and you stay friends either way.
Titles, badges, achievements — what's the difference?
Titles show next to your name. Only one active at a time, switch whenever you like. Some come from achievements, others from the store or a season.
Badges are 11 icons for one-off milestones — tap one to see what it takes.
Achievements are 56 goals running in the background. The counter is on the stats bar on your profile.
What's my level good for?
Your level grows with XP from finished rounds and shows how much you've played. It gives you no advantage in games.
Separate from that are points: those feed the leaderboard. Aborted rounds give nothing.
Who sees my Instagram?
Only your friends. Everyone else doesn't even get it sent to the app — it's not just hidden, it never leaves your device.
You can add it under Edit profile → About you. You can leave out the @.
What is a season?
A time-limited period with its own tiers and rewards. You collect season XP by playing and unlock tiers with it — Somis, Lightning or cosmetics, depending on the tier.
You have to claim rewards. If something's waiting, the season bar shows "Claim reward now". Whoever reaches the top tier gets an exclusive title.
What can I buy in the store?
Frames around your profile picture, chat backgrounds, titles, name effects and chat bubbles. Everything is purely cosmetic — none of it gives you an advantage in games.
Every week one frame is on deal and cheaper. Some items cost Somis and Lightning together, so you can't just buy them outright.
Do purchases stay mine?
Yes. What you own stays in your collection — even after a season ends. Only the chance to buy it is time-limited: season items aren't guaranteed to come back.
How do I secure my account?
Link it in Settings to your Apple account. After that, you're back in on a new device with one tap.
There's also a recovery key as a backup — keep it somewhere safe. Without either, an account can't be recovered after a reinstall.
How do I report or block someone?
Via the three-dot menu on their profile or in the chat. Reporting goes to the team; blocking removes you both from each other's matching and chats.
For anything serious: report, don't just block. That's the only way someone sees it.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → all the way down. This is permanent: profile, chats, points, achievements and purchases are gone afterward and can't be recovered.
What we store in the meantime and why is explained in the privacy policy.
Something isn't working — what do I do?
At the bottom under Connects there's "Problem or question? Send us a ticket". It goes straight to the team, with the reply arriving in the app.
Include what you were doing right before it happened — that saves half the troubleshooting.
Still have a question?
Send us a ticket — in the app, under Connects. It goes straight to the team, and the reply comes back in the app.
